Bavarian Blacksmith Experience

I went with my dad, brother, and a couple of family friends - I was the only girl in the group, we all made railspike knives and it was fantastic. I didn’t feel singled out like forging is a “man’s thing” and instead it was a safe, interactive, and well-led experience in forging a knife. We did the rough work - with our instructor helping things along - and it was about an hour class for all 5 of us to get to the point of quenching the blades. After that we went around town to the shops while waiting for the grinding and polishing to be done which was another hour later. Overall, lovely shop, excellent craftsmanship, amazing staff, and a great time to have with loved ones. Can’t wait to come back and try again.

My wife booked me an Adventure knife session for our anniversary. Bavarian Blacksmith Exp is a fantastic place. Very welcoming, informative and fun. My trip to their forge was time and money well spent. I wish I could remember the smiths name, he was knowledgeable and patient, humorous and fun to work with. They really care about safety. I plan of visiting there again, with my sons.

Overall OBSESSED with this experience! It was absolutely wonderful, fun and stress relieving! I highly highly highly recommend doing this for ANYONE with any even SLIGHT interest in joining in on the fun. I’ve literally done nothing even close to this experience before (unless you count watching Forged in Fire-which I didn’t know one of the previous Champions actually is the owner?!?! SO COOL) and legitimately this experience is NOOB/beginner LEVEL friendly. They also have so many different options that you can choose to create. Jake was a pleasure to work under, absolutely wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable, informative, patient, kind and has such good energy and intentions just like the rest of the staff. Dustin/DMANNNNN was also super kind and informative, and was open to answering questions I had even though he wasn’t our blacksmith! Gale at the desk was also super kind and helpful and very friendly. If you’ve made it this far, please do consider stopping by and making your own pendant, knife, wand, sword etc! Such a clean, friendly atmosphere. 10000/10 will definitely return in the future.

Me and my wife decided to do this because we got a coupon at another shop in Frankenmuth so we decided to do a dagger with a skull pommel which in and out was an awesome experience to be able to make a knife together. The end result is going to look rough in the forge but I promise it's going to look amazing after the sharpening and polishing. We picked up the knife after the sharpening and started heading home when we hit a deer on the highway we used this same knife to cut our way out of our car so not only was it an amazing experience but it's reliable. After everything I had to leave a review because the knife may have saved our lives tonight thank you.

I had a great time in the ax forging class at Bavarian Blacksmith. Dustin was fantastic. He took the time to explain what we were doing and why. He also shared other techniques that I would need to use at home with out a hydraulic press. This was my 4th experiance with Bavarian Blacksmith and I highly recommend it. The staff has been great every time.

So my dad and I went to the Bavarian Blacksmith on Black Friday and it was incredible. My dad made a knife out of a rail spike and decorated a snowman ornament. Gayle was the retail person and she is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Jada was the blacksmith that helped my dad make a knife and she was very helpful with talking my dad through the process and explaining the safety instructions. Tiffany was the blacksmith that helped me make a snowman ornament and she also worked with 2 little boys and she did a wonderful job. Logan did the behind the scenes work on the knife that my dad made. He did the finishing polishing and grinding work that fully turned my dad's work into a usable knife. My dad and I will never forget our experience there. It was truly worth the 2 hour drive up there.
